Never underestimate the power of a good dip. In this case, salad components are dunked in dressing for an unexpected caesar salad crudite. Perfect for get togethers!
Nearly every party I’ve been to in the last few years has included some kind of vegetable tray (often from Costco). Usually there’s the standard carrots, broccoli, peppers, cauliflower, celery surrounding an enormous boat of ranch dressing.
Don’t get me wrong, these vegetable trays have saved my dinner many a time as I’ve been the sole loader of vegetables. But I don’t see why vegetable trays can’t branch out past ranch or blue cheese dressing.
So I made my own version.
Caesar Salad Crudite Platter
I’m kind of obsessed with caesar salad, but I think it’s really about the dressing. And this miso caesar dressing is spot on. I use in on salads, spring rolls, wraps, even pasta salad. What better dressing to start with for an unexpected crudite platter?
The key to composing this caesar salad crudite is to branch out from your basic caesar salad ingredients. Here, I’ve including carrots, a couple different kinds of radishes, and endive. Dress it up even more with some options of cooked vegetables if you like. Roasted petite carrots or brussels sprouts add a texture and unexpected flavor to this caesar salad crudite.
And if you’re feeling ambitious, throw on a few crunchy bready things! Croutons are a key element of caesar salads in a bowl, so why not add breadsticks, crackers, or crostini to the mix?
This caesar salad crudite is really just the beginning of creative vegetable platters. Try this avocado cilantro dressing, or a this spectacular green goddess dressing as the center of your vegetables at your next event!
